September Florida Camp – Bike Repair

Florida Has Launched

in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.  – Proverbs 3:6

We had a successful launch in the Fort Lauderdale area for our first Florida Advance Camp. We had 11 campers; the largest launch group to date, from all over the South Florida area. We received amazing feedback from moms about how we positively impacted their sons. We already have 16 campers signed up for future camps and more that are interested in joining. God is truly on the move in South Florida.

Mentors and Teachers

We had 13 mentors and two Product Knowledge Experts come out for the day to mentor, teach, and walk beside our campers. Six of these mentors came from Texas to help train new local mentors.

Teaching Basic and Advanced Skills

We had two Product Knowledge Experts there to teach bike tuning, repair, and maintenance. We started with some basics to give the young men a starting point for the day.

Application

Our campers put to action what they were taught, plus some. We had a local bike shop donate bikes to any camper that didn’t have one at home. The young men either brought their own from home or picked one to work on for the day. The necessary repairs were all different skill levels, but our mentors wrenched right beside the young men to make their bikes functional and right, no matter what the issue was.
